Nothing ever becomes real till experienced — even a proverb is no proverb till your life has illustrated it.
~ John Keats

I guess he's saying you can't tell nuthin' to nobody. I don't know that I agree. I've learned stuff that people told me, I've done things on the strength of trusting them, not because I had figured it out first. Leap & the net will appear seems a better motto. Oh wait — the first part of what he's saying is that, isn't it? Leap & it becomes real because now you've experienced it. And a proverb is just words till you have felt it in your bones. OK, I've come around. He died at 24 — maybe that thought is no longer profound at 60, when you know exactly this better than you know anything else.
