Poem of the Week

Starting Again

an old woman on parade

wants a glass of ginger ale

everyone turns to see why the drums

changed their rhythm

we start again & start anew

she sings above scarred birds

whistles for luck

finds a wind harp & a stone

to start with no one's home

one's home

follows like a tree

& a mardi gras beat puts us to sleep
