Jersey girl

I had to ask Joel Lewis why I'd been considered an honorary Jersey poet, & he remembered better than I did that I used to work in Englewood. It was so much fun to have my family at my reading in Jersey City; to hear Sanjay's terrific story & some of the open readers; to take a lot of transportation: subway, PATH, taxi, elevator, light rail, PATH, taxi; to be part of an enthusiastic & warm crowd; to see my old pal Jim Ruggia after many years; to be playful with my work and read whatever letter people called for in My Marriage A to Z and "Baseball A to Z." Poetry! Ain't it grand!
