I know a lot of people who make a point of articulating things they are grateful for. I myself make a list every morning & it invariably improves my mood. It occurs to me that expressing our thanks should be part of that exercise.

I recently did favors for a couple of people, who both neglected to show any appreciation.

Do I do that? I sure hope not.

Am I being small for expecting thanks? When I hold a door for a stranger who walks through without acknowledging me, I say as cheerily as I can: If you aren't going to thank me, then you should tip me!
