I never thought I would say it, or think it, or feel it, but I'm sick of this cold weather. Snow I never get sick of & I don't entirely mind the cold, but it is wearing me down. I am grumpy & I'm not the only one: People seem on edge, jokes aren't rolling off like they usually do.
I just realized that not only are (too) many of my loved ones—family, friends—dying but also so many artists in my wider life, like Lou Reed & Pete Seeger: folks that have always been there to inspire & challenge. I hope it's only the grim January making me feel the world is thin.
