I intended to stay in Spain in this blog for as long as possible but got derailed by Johnny having to have an angiogram & stent. Too much hospital of late, & I'm exhausted, but my question is: am I supposed to tell people? Is it the kind of thing one's family should be told as a matter of course, is it optional (I did talk to my sister, but that's because I talk to my sister), or is it on the order of getting an eye exam or going to the market, just part of daily life that concerns no one but us? I was surprised that someone announced her hysterectomy on Facebook, so that's one end of the continuum. The other end is probably my late friend Bonnie, who yelled at me for telling someone she'd had a baby: That's private! That's no one's business but my own!
