Rachelle

My long-time neighbor & friend Rachelle Garniez is an amazing songwriter, musician, & performer. We went to see her last night at Rockwood 3, right around the corner on Orchard Street. Accompanied by a stand-up bass player & a violist, she sang a few new songs + a couple of familiar ones, with a little Mose Allison-Leonard Cohen medley in the middle. As Robyn said, how amazing to go to an event at 7 p.m. on a Tuesday & get so much talent. Yes.

I was trying to suggest an album or 2 to start with if you're not already a fan, but there isn't a one I don't love. Maybe, maybe Luckyday a little more, because it has my two favorite songs, "January Wind" and "Red Roses," but there's Serenade City, Crazy Blood, Melusine Years, & all the others.
