High/Low

I was listening to McTell's "Razor Ball." Usually I wait for him to say that the Yale girls say Hahr, hahr, in a snooty East Coast imitation, but today I noticed him repeating "play it low & lonesome," & I thought of Bill Monroe's "high lonesome" & wondered if there's any connection. I suppose not, not that McTell & Monroe don't both play their blues.
